Fursuit

Okay I have been doing a little bit of research and finding out a few things so maybe this weekend or next I am going to start making my own fursuit... or at least the buying of the materials needed for a fursuit.

First and foremost I think I need to commission Kien to do my character's Concept Art since I love his style in general (and since I plan on using my blue skunk http://www.furaffinity.net/view/930588/ ).

I've never really done any (well not much at least) of this before though so not totally sure what I am getting into. So if anybody had any helpful tips please feel free to let me know them.

Pre-Weekend stuffs

So MIR is this weekend which means a whole lot of friends are coming into town. It's always cool when an event like this happens because of all the people who end up coming for it. It's just like a furry con... to bad they are typically so close together because some of the friends who are furs will come for one or the other but not both.

Either way it will be a fun time. Right after work going to be taking the Metra home with our friend John. He's going to come see what we have done with the condo and then eat nearby our home. After that who knows. Will more than likely tell everyone about it on monday though.

More Fursuit stuff

So since I did make a post in my LJ about the fursuit project and posted in the Fursuit LJ about it as well I thought I would at least cross post the questions I posed there.

So here goes a few questions:

1. What is the best pattern to base the body suit off of or is it better to use a duct tape dummy?

2. I do want to try and make the neck/chest fur the same as in the pic to have it as a cravat, what kind of fur should be best for that area, and would it be better to make it part of the neck or part of the chest (ie connected to the head or connected to the bodysuit)?

3. Does anyone have, or know of some place that has, instructions on making a suit with a serger as that is all I currently have?

I know I will have more questions and will more than likely use my LJ to post progress of my suit and get some pointers for certain things.
