Reading room
Aug. 16th, 2007 09:13 pmSo lately because of new job and because of long transit to work where I am not driving I find that I have a lot of time to read. I have read many things of late but currently I am reading a really great novel called "The Poe Shadow". It's basically about a fan of Poe's who after discovering his death tries to fond out what really happened. It reads really well and is very similar to Sherlock Holmes or C. Auguste Dupin (the first Detective o=in the first detective stories introduced by E. A. Poe himself.) It's odd though I guess I like the book so much that I am taking my time reading it. I mean usually a good book recently has taken about two days to go through (new Harry Potter book was done that way).
The other cool thing about it is that it is exactly what I was looking for so I can start my steampunk story idea. I needed a first person perspective in the Victorian era and that's what this is (although my story has absolutely nothing to do with the Victorian era or earth in fact but since most steampunk is Victorian styled so is mine to an extent.)
Anyway it's a awesome read you should check it out.
