OMG Becky...
Aug. 9th, 2007 08:51 pmI can't believe it I found my best friend from elementary school today.
So how'd I do it through the power of Google.
Today while I was bored, at some place where I shouldn't be surfing the net, I saw on Digg.com a story for the site Spock.com. Basically it was a site to find people on the net. Well the site was slow and only really searched the popular social networking sites but I still checked to see if I was on there and just for the heck of it my best friend from elementary school. Well I checked there and really didn't find much of anything but thought "You know Google would be much better than this site." so I searched there instead. Well being Google it picked up way too many people so I narrowed the search a bit and searched for his name and the last place he lived. that also came up with way too many people but I decided to check through that first. So what I find is a school that has his name there and an e-mail address (a yahoo one). So being the sleuth that I am I started to check for the e-mail address or at least the name in the address and come to find a couple of sites and his website. I still wasn't positive it was him until I saw some of his pictures on his page and then knew it instantly.
So yeah then there was the waiting, the long agonizing waiting until I could get home and use yahoo messenger to basically see if it really was him or not. Obviously it was.
We talked for quite some time and then he had to log off but of course not before getting all contact info the internet can provide.
So I am sooooo very fucking happy today and feeling very devious too since I actually used Google to hunt down a long lost friend.
