New lappy and stuffs
Jul. 29th, 2009 01:10 pmI'm so tired right now :P, Guess it could be from slight boredom.
Anyway...
So I got my new lappy yesterday. It's a last generation Macbook Pro 15.4in 2.44GHz GeForce empowered machine... But I really didn't get to do much with it. I was going to transfer my old computer to the new one but unfortuantely the newer Macbook Pros have better Firewire than the older ones. So there was also the option of using Time Machine to set up. So I look at my old computer to give it a quick update and notice "Hmmmmm Time Machine is off?" Basically I turned it off at some point and hadn't turned it back on since. It needed to back up 23.4 GB of memory (so I'm thinking it might have been not AC that I turned it off but ever since my NY trip :P ).
Anyway that took all night to back up which I figured and I played a little bit with the machine (not much more to do than my regular one at the moment though). So about 10:30/11 o'clock the machine finally updated and I started the process to transfer the old machine info to the new machine. When it got to the point of downloading it it said it would take 4 hours... then went to five. So basically I just covered the keyboard and clickpad so the kitties would do anything to it and went to bed. When I woke up it said it still had an hour left :P. Well I did my usual morning stuff except for net surfing and waited and waited and waited. By the time I had to leave the progress bar said less than a minute remaining... which it had been saying for the last ten minutes. Hopefully when I get home it will be done lol.
In other news because of bringing the lappy home and feeding the kitties before trying to go to the gym, I never made it. I waited for the train for a good ten minutes and by the time one did come my BF was on it so just decided to skip yesterday and go today. I am going today of course, just had a few reasons to stay at home yesterday.
