So this weekend the BF and I decided to go get Thomas a brother that he could play with and keep each other company. So Saturday we took Thomas to the vet to get him all caught up with shots and all then Sunday we rented a car and went to the Anti-Cruelty Society downtown and looked to see who they had. The first kitty we picked out we fell in love with. His name is Hank and he's a big sweet kitty. The bad part though is when we got him home we found out he was sick.

So today I called off because I didn't get much sleep anyway dealing with a sick kitty snuggling up to me and hardly breathing and just needed to take him to the vet today and yeah. So we were originally going to take him back to the ACS because we could get free care for him so I called early in the morning (10am when they opened) and they said they'd call back this afternoon (which they did... at 4pm) so we decided since he was breathing mostly though his mouth that we should take him to our vet. We called him up and he was free so we got ready and walked him there (yeah that's how close he is). The Vet told us he had an Upper Respiratory Infection (which we kind-of figured since they mentioned that during our adoption procedures). He gave him a couple of shots and gave us a liquid medicine that we are supposed to give him morning and night until it's gone. The sad thing is now the kitty is very mad at us for making him take it (wait until he has to continue to take it).

So yeah I feel bad for the kitty. When we got him he was being separated from his brother (which was kind-of why he took to our place so well I think), he was already sick, he was going to a new place with a new kitty he didn't know and he's been pretty good about it and now has to take medicine. I can understand him being upset, I just hope he doesn't hate us for it in the end.
