Weekendness
Dec. 15th, 2008 01:23 pmThis weekend was rather fun.
Friday invited
landis_mclovin to go to the Christkindlmarket downtown. It was rather busy and looked rather quickly before deciding we were hungry. So we head off to Fado to eat. We get there and find out they were closed that day for a private party, so we decide to go to Elephant and Castle. We go around in a circle basically, find out that the bus driver didn't do a pass back so I have to get let in through the gate since I never got charged for the first ride even though I was supposed to, and get to that restaurant which was so packed that people were getting hit by the spinning door. So deciding 45 minutes was too long to wait we decided screw downtown and went back to my house and area. For food we stopped at Morseland and had a decent meal without having to wait for 45 minutes (although our server was rather slow this time). And then after that went over to Evil Squirrel Comics where
woodychitwn was hosting his usual Friday Night Magic. I hate to say I usually avoid the place then because there are typically way too many people there. After that Landis came over and we hung out a bit at my place and relaxed :3 and then drove him home after a few hours of relaxing.
Saturday we had lots of things to do but after a late night Friday were very unmotivated to do much which is why when we got to the haircut place with about ten people in line in front of us we declined and went shopping for the WCBT christmas party instead. I like the christmas party because it's always fun to try and buy something others would like a still stay over or at least around $5. I think next year we need to prepare a little bit more though heh. So after shopping we get things ready for the party and go to it. We get there a lil bit late mostly due to the CTA and partially because we didn't get anything for us to drink. The party was fun as always but we left at 5 so we could go home and feed the kitty cat.
Later on we have one last thing to do which was a concert at the newly redone More Theater. I have to say I love what they had done to the place it was very nice. Jason and I got a booth which we were glad we did because the place got filled. We got there a lil bit early and there was hardly anyone there then so glad we got the seat when we did. And from now on that's basically the seats we are going to try and get. The concert was from the Chicago Afrobeat Project and it was so good that I got all their CDs that night (3 for $30). But it was getting late and as much as we liked them we could stay much longer so we split after a few songs from their second set.
Sunday we did a lot of nothing, or at least I did. I cleaned a bit and did laundry but mostly chilled. I also made stew... which my BF didn't like :P But later that night we got into a real big cleaning spree. I know once we get home we are going to finish it too which more than likely means no more boxes from the move... YAY!!!!!!!!!!
So basically that's my weekend. Always too short they need to be a few days longer :3
