Election Day

So I am kind-of nervious today. I'm not sure what to expect since this Primary election in general has been very interesting and very unexpected. But I am hoping the polls are mostly right and Obama is in the lead.
It's odd but I think Obama is one of the first presidents who can bring back Honesty and Integrety not only to the US Presidency but to the US in general. In the last few years we have lost respect of the global comunity and it's time to regain it and I think Obama is a great first step in that direction. As you can see already he is already uniting people from all parties and I think he can do the same with this country. Clinton has lost all respect in my eye. Once I would have voted for Clinton (mainly because of Bill) but she sent him on attack against Obama which he hasn't really done much of, if any, attacking. He has done defending attacks but anyone would defend their positions. The sad thing is their positions are pretty much the same so right now it's not the positions we are voting for but the person who can take that position and get the most accomplished without starting a war with the republicans. Also we are looking for someone who has charisma and the honesty and integrety that I mentioned above. Clinton with all the fighting within her party does not reflect that and will make her term much like Bills. It may be decent but it will not unite people but devide them. We need a uniter not a divider.
It's also funny my Mom sent me a e-mail on Obama slaming him for things like being Muslim(which the basic whole e-mail is here with the rebutal: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp ) My personal view on this is so what does it matter what religion they are, we are in a country that is supposed to be founded on religious freedoms. I know recently we have lost a lot of those freedoms (not religious but personal ones) but even then it's not the ghovernments right to tell us what we should and shouldn't believe, it's not even the medias right to do so. We have to make up our own minds but we should do so with facts rather than fiction (say like Fox News). We the people need to wake up and demand our rights for ourselves and demand that the media tell the truth and not just what they think they want us to know (that's why I love digg.com so much).
I hate to say this though but we need to be more like Europe. We have lost our individual self and have become one nation under WalMart and McDonalds. We have become so complaciant in our ways that whenever something bad happens we wait for someone to fix it and go about our lives like nothing has happened. In Europe if something bad happens they protest. They go to the streets and tell everyone they are pissed off at how things are going. We just sit at our TVs or Computers and watch it happen and never try it here. This is our government and our rights and we should stand up for what we believe in and do something to get them back. That's why today when I go vote I will not support the Republicans, who used to support smaller government but are now all about large government taking all the control, I will support the Democrats specifically Obama, so we can not only gain waht we lost but regain the spirit that is America.
