Dec. 17th, 2007

Okay well this weekend was rather... snowy and unproductive lol.

Not sure of much happening on Friday after work besides going to Ben's Noodles and Rice. If you are in Edgewater area and haven't been there you need to go. It's quite possibly the only Thai food place I like which is saying a lot.

Saturday we got an all day rental from Zipcar (I have Zipcar and the BF has iGo). The best part was it was snowing basically all day. I'm not too fond of driving in general. Not only do I get rather pissed at everyone on the road it just makes me get rather pissed at everyone in general. Saturday wasn't that bad for the most part. I was rather calm didn't care much about speed and tried not to let other drivers upset me much, even though I still bitched about them. Anyway we went to the burbs to get gifts for the families. I'm still not quite sure what I wanna get my mom although I need to get a card for my brother. We went to Meijers, Walmart and then Woodfield Mall for Hot topic. I wanted to see if they had anything good in their clearance racks... they didn't. So went to the mall on Lincoln nearby Skokie/Evanston to see if they had anything but they really didn't either. The rest of the day Jason made cookies at Brett's house and I went out to dinner with Eric and Ben. Eric mentioned something to Ben about sugar intake, which is why I am so glad I mentioned it to him. I really do think something is wrong and that he needs to check it out though.

Sunday I planned to go see the Golden Compass and have dinner with friends (Eric, Ben and Chris). I stayed home much of the day and relaxed (although should have probably got some laundry started) while my BF and Brett went to "little italy". At 3 though I left to go downtown to get tickets and everything. Got to the theater at four (hadn't been there in a while so took me about fiver minutes to find it lol). Got the tickets which took about fifteen minutes because of a long line for another movie (possibly I am Legend). It was really cold out too and they hadn't cleaned most of the snow off of the main sidewalks so I decided to stay at the theater and wait for everyone. Nobody showed up though until about 4:50 and the movie started at 5:10. After an explanation though I forgave Eric (I wouldn't want to try to talk to my grandparents on the CTA either so can understand why he stayed home a bit longer to talk.) Ben and Chris got there at 5:10 though. I hate to say but for me when I get tickets for someone I don't want to be waiting til after the movie starts for them to show up. I really like to be at the theater and waiting for a few minutes in it. But anyway Eric convinced me to go ahead and go to the theater and wait for them there after we had gotten our snacks and save some seats for them. Well they get there on time enough for a few more movie previews (which I sometimes think are better that the movies themselves).

Now onto the movie. I was Extremely disappointed. In truth I don't think it was because I read the books before hand either. The movie was very condensed like they tried to squeeze too much into a smaller amount of time. The introduced characters that were not really relative to the plot the way they tossed them in. They were completely relative to the plot in the book but not in the movie. They cut so much out from the book that what they had left didn't seem to make much sense by itself. The only things I did like were Lyra and Pan the rest seemed like filler (even though they were rather important in the book). So yeah I was disappointed and will probably not go see the others when they come out.

After that we went to TGI Fridays... which was another diappointment but not surprised there. I'm never surprised when I get disappointed at big chain restaurants. During dinner though someone mentioned something that made me think of BF and phone and looked at it when I see my BF is actually calling me right then (since I had it on silence for the movie). I picked it up and my BF wanted to do something for dinner and was upset that I had done something. I'm not sure about this one though. I did ask him if he wanted to do dinner with us after the movie downtown which he said no to. We did text a little before the movie which he could have mentioned something about dinner then. I know I probably should have checked my phone right after the movie but everyone forgets these things sometimes. But I was still upset that he was upset. I don't like when people I truly care about are sad. So after the meal went home and nuzzled my BF and applogized. We were find after that.

That was my weekend. Tune in next weekend for all the details.
If you know me I am not very fond of Memes but I actually kind-of liked this one so I decided to do it.

STEP ONE:
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, From little to big.

STEP TWO:
-Surf around your friends list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true! Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have something you don't use that another wants, or perhaps the spare funds on hand, to give. The point of this isn't to put people out, or go broke or whom gets the most wishes fulfilled, Is a chance to grant some one's a wish out of the goodness of your heart, because you have something to spare. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

STEP THREE:
-Include your contact info (email for shipping, addy) whatever/however you are comfortable with, just in case some one does have a physical object from your wishlist they wish to send you.

1. A condo (okay that one I doubt anyone here can get me but doesn't mean I don't want one)
2. Art of my Fursonas, be it my Blue Steampunk Skunk or my cute cubby cheetah
3. A PS3 or Blueray player of some sort so I can fully enjoy my new tv
4. Some gear, any gear as long as I can fit into it.
5. A British School Boy uniform
6. Chocolate (milk chocolate is best)
7. Another good book (fantasy preferred but sci-fi and detective are good too)
8. Some Wii codes from friends so when I get Super Smash Bros Brawl I can get my ass kicked
9. A TMNT onesie
10. Anything you wanna send me... as long as it's not disgusting or trash or something lol
