Weekendness
Dec. 10th, 2007 08:22 amWell it's another beautiful Monday where we are supposed to get all sorts of lovely snow and possibly freezing rain again (YIPPEE!). But enough of what's happening (or going to happen) today it's time for the weekend update.
Friday was rather fun. Stayed downtown after work and did a tiny bit of shopping at Old Navy and Borders while waiting for my BF and found a perfect gift for one of our friends and some nice slipper socks from Old Navy. After I do a lil shopping my BF gets downtown and I go and meet him over at the Christkindlmarket. The Market is really cool has tons of wooden made stuff and hand made ornaments and such. It also has really good candy too and the only place I can find sugar roasted peanuts within the city. We walk around there for a bit before the BF gets a few texts from one of our friends which we end up making dinner plans with. At the same time though the reason we were waiting around downtown was to catch the Christmas Train. So we wait for one of the two that we were going to have dinner with by going to the trains. We meet up with a third (well second since the third is actually already in the area we were going to eat) and then we have a long wait for the train itself.
OMG! That's the easiest way to describe this train. Or more like Santa was on an Acid trip. I have to say if I wasn't in the spirit before this really kciked me into it. It had to be the coolest thing I had ever seen holiday wise. The whole train was decorated in holiday stuff. The Ads were fake and all holiday related (jokes and such for the kids). The seats were a holiday carpet print. The lights were read and green inside and had strings of light circling the inside. The windows had a plastic cover over them with a wintery print... and this was just the inside. The outside was decked out with lights and signs for the holidays and Santa sat in the middle with a microphone and was waving to everyone. It was amazingly corny yet fun all wrapped into one.
So yeah after that have dinner and then basically head home and relax there.
Saturday I felt rather lazy. We did our usual Saturday routine which was to clean a bit and get laundry done but after that I really didn't feel like doing much. My BF went out to go to the Garfield Park Conservatory and I was going to go get my haircut but just didn't do anything. In fact after the clothes were done I just vedged and got a phone call from a friend.
[Edit] I did forget Saturday night had some fun at CHC. Watched a bunch of interesting things happen and did some wax play (definintely not my thing but was fun to try). [/Edit]
Sunday I wanted to get too much done but unfortunately didn't realize the time our Party was. I wanted to go see The Golden Compass this weekend but since the whole weekend went by without seeing it I was craving to see it then. So I was trying to get the BF up early and see one of the first matinees but when I looked at times for the Christmas Party for WCBT I noticed it wasn't a late one but at 2. So instead of getting the BF up and ready for a movie I was getting him up and ready for the party. We go get some last minute stuff for foods, come back, pack things up for the party, go get the cake (a yummy Chocolate cake with Peppermint Frosting) and then hop on the train to the party. The funny thing is while on the train we meet up with another member of the WCBT and head down the rest of the way together. What's even more funny is when we get there everyone else gets there too. First time I have seen all the gay boys on time lol.
The Party was quite fun though and our friend Eric was extremely nice to let us use his home for the party. After the party and the massive amounts of eating I still wanted to go see the movie. SO I convinced a few friends there to go, but at the same time one of our friends made plans for us to meet up with someone. I have to say it rather pissed me off, but at the same time I can understand. We started making both plans at the same time but we could have had time to do both if we would have left earlier. So basically no movie :P. We went to go meet up with his friend, me at the time still hoping to catch the movie but realizing that I wouldn't be. After we got to the hotel I was ready to just go home and wait another day for it but Eric convinced me to stay and go to the restaurant with everyone else. I'm glad I stayed if just to talk with Eric some more.
I'm getting concerned about my friend Ben though (Chicago Ben not Cincy Ben although would be for about the same reason). Ben in Cincy always was tired when in cars or in transit in general, he always got sick with just slight spices in food and in general seemed to space out sometimes. He found out that a lot of that was because he had Diabetes. I'm afraid that he may have it as well. I mean I am only basing this on similarity of actions but it could be. The problem is not exactly sure how to let him know. He does have LJ but not sure if he reads mine or reads in much in general. I'm just rather concerned about him because he seemed during the dinner completely spaced out almost as if he wasn't actually in the restaurant with us at all. If he doesn't read this though I will tell him he should look into it soon.
Anyway after that went home and pretty much crashed and now it's today... yippee.
So on the movie front though I will go see it next weekend... yes it will be done.
