Weekendness
Dec. 3rd, 2006 09:44 pmSo since this has been a rather busy weekend I thought I would post about it.
Friday my temp job gave me extra hours and was supposed to start at 9 (which I did). The weather seemed to think it didn't want me there at nine though which I decided to leave extra early (like at 7:30 since I was taking the redline... I'm not going to trust a CTA bus driver to go through snow or other drives for that matter). But as we get on the Redline (since I left at the same time as my BF) we hear that there have been delays and still were some delays. Jason then decides to get off early but I stay on the train since I have to go downtown. After going underground the train, which was pretty slow as it was, almost went to a stand still stopping frequently and moving very slowly. So I made up my mind that when I got to the next stop I would just get off and walk the rest of the way (which would be the Chicago and I was going the bridge before Wacker). When I and a few others got out of the train because of being tired of the wait we noticed practically a whole troop of Firemen in their yummy uniforms running to the front of our train. I got out of there quickly now having about thirty minutes left until I had to start work. After that though it was cake getting to work. No one was really on the streets due to the snow so the walk was easy. Well I start doing work and get a couple of texts from my BF. Come to find out that when he got to work other people were just about to leave as all the people from the burbs couldn't drive into work (the bubs got hit worse than the city). So they closed work for the day. With that Jason then decided to have lunch with me. I enjoyed that very few times have I gotten to have lunch with my BF on a work day so it was nice :)
After work the company I work for had won a party for Howl at the Moon. This was the first time I was at the dueling piano bar and I really enjoyed it. The party came with two drinks for fifty cents then every other drink with bracelet that they give you when you enter for 3 or 4 dollars. I had a Sex on the Beach just so I wouldn't look like I didn't drink anything (I just usually don't like the taste of anything). Well after about a couple of hours I decide to leave (was just happy that I had the first request of Great Balls of Fire). I call my BF and find out where he is. He was going to be meeting with our Chicago friends Ben and Chris from WCBT (Windy City Boys Troop). Tonight was our usual meeting night and he was heading to IHOP. Well I tell him I am am on my way there as well and meet them there shortly after they order. At that point after talking a bit we make plans to do something Saturday and then go to the meeting. Meeting in it's usual, I have no clue about other leather groups in this city or other states for that matter, way and we go our seperate ways (meaning Jason and I go home).
Saturday
Jason, Ben Chris and I all go to Wisconsin so we can show Ben and Chris the wonders that is the mans mall, Farm and Fleet (which on the other side of Milwaukee it's FleetFarm, long story won't go into it). We shop there for several hours so long that Jason and I get a bit bored but we're there for them anyway so it's all good. After the shopping we go eat at Perkins (only go there for the Chicken Tender Melt with no tomatos... which ironically so does Jason) and meet up with a friend of Jason and Ben. We sit and eat for an hour or so and chat. Afterwords the party minues the new/old friend head off toward a piercing place but stop off at a Target along the way for a potty break and well a Zelda break. They didn't have any copies of it within the city that I new of in Chicago but when we got there they had at least twenty copies of it. So Merry Chirstmas to me cause jason got it for me since I kind-of paid for the Wii and well was going to get that game anyway. Get out of Target getting other things as well and get to the peircing place so Jason can get a new PA ring and Ben and Chris can look at other rings (which they didn't find anything to their liking). So we head home because Ben and Chris have a concert to go to. On our way home we decided that well we wanted to go too and then asked Brett if he wanted to go with us. He said yes which then made us think of the torture that is fitting five people in a Honda Element (not fun). Really the only bad thing about that whole trip (and I say this not to be mean but because it was kind-of funny now ;) ) was while jason was driving and Ben Chris and I were in the back seat he went over a Chicago speed hump at a speed too high for going over and all three of us in the back smacked our heads on the roof. Concert was good. Went to eat afterwords. Food was good although spacing was a problem for a tiny bit then we drop ben and Chris off in various place then go home.
Sunday (today)
Get up and play Zelda. After that went to the Chris Kringle Mart in the middle of Chicago in 15 degree temps and freeze our asses off (Jason, Brett and I). After getting a few cute orniments and eating random german things we do a bit of shopping at sears then head home. The play more Zelda and other Wii games.
All in all this weekend (except for today) was very nice and eventful. I am glad that I had today to relax a bit and play some games though.
