News of all sorts now.
Oct. 2nd, 2006 06:42 pmLets start at things I did today.
First off I put in my two weeks notice at Target. Let's see 12 years of retail and where has it gotten me not really anywhere. Going to be going full time at my temp agency (which has mainly office jobs). This way I can get experience in office jobs and get higher paying jobs and hopefully get to move up in the world rather than rotting in retail.
Secondly I have 180 towards my Wii in gift cards now. Most of that was free (although one I got for buying something I was going to buy anyway). Still need a bit more but really paying 70 bucks plus a couple of games (about 170 total) is still a hell of a lot less than paying the full amount I would have paid had I not had the gift cards.
Third had a visit from a friend out of town this weekend which I am still a bit upset at myself about. He came down for something specific and didn't get to see it because we took too much time preparing for it. I still so very sorry about that. But at least we still had fun. The next day (sunday) we went to Ikea and other place in Shamburg and also went to Gino's North (a very small pizza place ran by and old lady and an old man who were very nice and the pizza was great) then went to margies for their uber delicious hot fudge sundaes.
Forth I think I should also appologize to my friend Morris. Ever since Benjie left we seemed to have drifted away and I think a lot of it is because I may be a little bit intimidated by him. He is at an intellectual level I could have reached if I tried but am too apitehtic to obtain. Basically to put it aimply he's smarter than me. Benjie was a bit of the buffer for that. Anything that Morris mentioned Benjie would typically know and they would converse about it. After hearing some of the stuff I could typically add two cents but usually they conversed amoung themselves. It wasn't bad. In truth I thought it to be cute. But without that buffer I couldn't really hold a candle to half the things Morris would say or references he would infer. I'm not saying this to be bitter or anything but it did make a rift between us which widened when Chi (nothing bad against you either Chi I knew you and Morris seemed to be the odd couple in more ways than one) visited us and didn't tell Morris. Lastly I think to neither of us really liked Poetry (that and everytime I was told an event I either forgot :P or I was already busy at that time.) Even then I still wouldn't have minded going to one of the slams I just know jason wouldn't want to go and I'm not really fond going anywhere without someone.
Okay now lets see... is there anything else I would like to get off my chest...
Two more trivial things:
One I really am getting into the star Trek Titan Book series. It's strange but it's actually good. I wouldn't think much fan fiction-esque stuff would be but it's very well written and continues right after the last movie with Riker's new ship. I really wish they would make a series out of it because I think it would do quite well.
Next went to Hot Topic recently to get Jason some new earrings and while there bought two pair of pants like I have been wanting for a long time because they were 50% off an already 50% marked price. So basically what were 58 dollar pants became 14 dollar pants (and I got two of them and a Edwardo "Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends" Shirt) all in all a really good haul for 50 bucks.
So all in all pretty decent LJ entry. I know I don't write often but sometimes it's well worth it.
